Keep mower blades sharp. Dull blades don't cut the lawn as crisply and can damage the ss and make it vulnerable to diseases.


Mow when the ss is dry. Mow wet ss can damage the blades and cause uneven mow.



Set y mower to the proper cutt height.
This depends on the type of ss in y lawn:

Kentucky Bluess 3.0" Zoysia 1.0" - 1.5"
Fescues and Ryess 3.0" St. Augustine 3.0"
Bentss 1.0" Bahiass 3.0"
Bermudass 1.0"- 1.5" Centipedess 1.5"


Mow often enough that you never remove more then 1/3 of the lawn height with each cut.


Make sure you don't leave clipps on the pavement where they can wash off into a er sce and contribute to urban er pollution.


When er y lawn, er deeply but not too often. In general, er should moisten the soil to a depth of 4 to 6 inches. This requires an application of a half inch of er on coarse, sandy soil, and 1 inch on heavy or fine-textured soil. Too much er can cause er quality and ss problems, increas the chance of fungus, or runoff and leach of nutrients. And, it's a waste of precious er resces.


Make sure the unleaded gasoline in y mower is no more than 30 days old. To extend the fuel's shelf life, try a fuel stabilizer such as Honda's Fuel Stabilizer. These products slow the ag process of the fuel.


Turn y mower sharply may scalp y ss! Be sure to make wide turns.


Grass clipps and debris that build up on the underside of the mower deck can hamper performance. Be sure to clean the underside of the deck and blades periodically. (see owner's manual for proper procedure)


To enhance the appearance of y lawn, don't forget to altern y mow pattern. This will help keep y ss from gett wear patterns or a dull appearance.
