Tools: The tools that your l require doing this job are


- You and your time of about 2 hours or less


- A bastard file of about 12" long


- A small crow bar to prevent ement of rotor of l er.


- A wta l be useful dong the job comtably.


Pre: You can use the following pre as a general guide and make changes to it to suit you. Remember the pre is not sacrosanct. The results are important, not the pre.


1. If possi, ree the handle of l er and place l er on the ta.


2. Secure it if possi in the clamps. If you do not have clamps, do not bother, secure it against any block, so that the ement away from you is restricted.


3. Fix the crowbar in the bla so that it l not rotate


4. W the help of the bastard file, file the edges of bla so that they look rp. W at an angle of 45 degrees


5. When one blade is ned, ree the crowbar and turn the rotor to w on another blade. Repeat the pre until all bla are ned.


6. If you have a flexi ft grinder in your DIY wshop, you l be a to complete the w win 5 to 10 minutes per blade. Make a template of blade profile bee you start your w and compare frequently. This is necessary to ensure that you do not r cut at a place.

While ning the bla ensure that the stroke is not too long otherwise, you may injure yourself.


Shaning Bla Of Pr Mr


Depending upon the l er the pre may vary. We have included general statements in this pre; you would have to change the pre slightly. Keep the maintenance manual of l er handy if you have one.


Tools required.


- Siphon hose and clean container


- Heavy w gls and goggles


- Dou-cut (medium-rough) flat file


- Lumber scrap


- Socket wrench set


- Rubber mallet*


- Bench vise or C clamps


- Rotary blade ner accessory


- Electric dr*


- Screwdriver, or 1/4-in. rod or bolt*


- Blade balancer


- Replacement blade*

Pre:


The pre is given the simple single blade l er, but the same l apply to all types of bla, whether single or dou


- Wear hand gls and clean the ine and the gasoline tank from outside


- Ree spark plug from the ine


- Ree all the fuel from the tank of the gasoline ine. Use the siphon hose so you do not sp gasoline on floor.


- Completely empty out the oil from gearbox if you have one


- Invert the ine and have access to the blade.


- Clamp the ine so it does not e and clean the blade area thoroughly


- W help of a box spanner, ree the nut holding the blade. Usually the nut l be unlocked in the reverse to direction of rotation of ine. You may age the screwdriver in the cooling fan of ine to stop rotation of ine.


- If you find that you are using too much ce to unlock the nut, put one or two drops of rust reing chemical, and try after 30 minutes


- After you ree the blade, clamp it in the bench vise and n it w a file or a grinder. Shan only the outer 2 to 3 inches. The area to be ned l be known if you see the blade.


- Shan only to the required extent. Too much ning is not necessary. This is not the knife. It ws at the speed of the ine


- After ning, check w your thumb. Be careful not to cut thumb. If you have done ning bee, or seen some one doing it, you l know what we mean by this.


- Balance the blade w help of a small balancing tool on VEE blocks, or even on two foot rulers pla side by side


- Refit the bla, ref ine oil and gasoline and test the rpness of bla on uncut portion of your l


Safety tips:


- Always use safety goggles and hand gls when wing w pr tools.


- Be sure to ree the spark plug bee starting. Serious accidents can happen if you do not do this.
